Our Beginning
Why We Started
Simder started in 2017 with a frustration we kept hearing the same way: the machines sold for home repair were heavy transformer units priced like factory equipment, and half of them did one job. Meanwhile, the people actually using them weren't pros — they were fixing truck beds at dusk, patching a barn gate before winter, building the fire pit that had been on the Pinterest board for two years.
We thought those people deserved a machine that was lighter, easier to learn, and did the work of several. So we built one. Then another. Eight years later, we're still building the same idea, just better.
2017 → Today
Our Story
In 2018, our first machines went up on Amazon. We didn't have a marketing budget — we had customers. Their reviews did the talking, and those listings now carry more than 4,000 of them.
In 2022, we took our biggest idea to Kickstarter: one machine that could MIG, TIG, stick, and plasma cut. Backers put up $450,000, and the SD-4050 Pro went from a sketch to a workbench.
Then the creators found it. Over 1,500 creators and influencers have featured our machines in their reviews — with their own projects, on camera, unscripted. You can watch a curated selection of them here.
Today the lineup runs from a 140A starter MIG to the 10-in-1 flagship, shipping from US-based warehouses. Same idea as day one: one machine, more ways to build.

What We Believe
We design around one principle: one machine, more ways to build. Every Simder welder combines multiple processes — MIG, TIG, stick, plasma cutting — so your budget goes into the machine, not into buying your machine's abilities back one accessory at a time.
And we keep it honest: our spec sheets say exactly what each machine can and cannot do. The SD-4050 Pro and TIG-250AC are rated for aluminum; our entry MIG machines are not, and we say so plainly. No inflated amps. No mystery numbers. The specs on the page are the specs in your shop.

The Simder Standard
Three things we refuse to cut corners on:
A warranty for the long haul.
Up to 3 years on our flagship machines, with replacement parts kept in stock. A welder should be a decade-long tool — we build ours, and stand behind them, accordingly.
Everything in the box.
The SD-4050 Pro ships with three torches and an aluminum wire feeder as standard equipment.
Advice from people who weld.
Our support team answers with settings, amperage, and technique — because whoever picks up the phone should know which end of the torch gets hot.
